Oil painting and mixed media on board.
This painting depicts a vintage jug (cornishware) with a spilled posy of daffodils. It appears to be falling as the tablecloth is falling downwards. It is painted with oil paint onto two separate wooden supports that have been collaged with vintage tablecloth fabric. The embroidery of the tablecloth is still visible and the fabric has a rumpled, relief texture. The collaged fabric shows evidence of previous use and overall creates a vintage, collaged, mixed media effect.
Each of the boards is 51cm square and must be bought as a pair, they must then be hung as a pair with one hung above the other to complete the diptych style image.
This painting was a part of an exhibition at Yore Mill Craft Shop and Gallery called Childhood Memories throughout August 23. It forms a part of the collected works painted by Julie for this exhibition.
