This painting depicts a Pelham Puppet (Little Dutch Girl) that appears to have been dropped and abandoned by a child. It is painted onto a canvas support that has been collaged with vintage tablecloth fabric. The embroidery of the tablecloth is still visible and has a slightly raised texture. The fabrics have been bonded together with melted wax and then painted over. The canvas shows evidence of previous use and overall creates a vintage, collaged, mixed media effect.
This painting was a part of an exhibition at Yore Mill Craft Shop and Gallery called Childhood Memories throughout August 23. It forms a part of the collected works painted by Julie for this exhibition.
The artwork is framed in an unpainted, natural ayous wood trayframe.
