“My work is created with stained porcelain which is marbled together with plain clay on the wheel. The technique hovers between controllable and random with me able to manipulate the outcome to a certain extent. I quickly fell in love with the technique and the way the resulting patterns remain a mystery until the excess liquid clay is removed from the pots surface. Every piece is a surprise and no two pieces are the same. The patterns which run both through the pot and across its surface are often reminiscent of stormy skies and seascapes. Every piece has its own unique landscape and character, some subtle others bold.”
