Black Stoneware Moss Moon Jar from the Icelandic Collection
Kirsty Adams is an award-winning ceramicist, making for over twenty years. She originally trained at Brighton Art College and then on the potters’ wheel in Japan. She has developed a personal approach to throwing on the wheel using porcelain clay, to produce unique pieces for the home. Having originally set up a studio in London, she now works from her studio in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Taken from the Icelandic collection and inspired by the moss covered, volcanic landscapes of the Reykjanes Peninsula, this moon jar is thrown from black stoneware, glazed with a copper green and tin glaze inside and out. It is striking as a stand alone piece, a vase or as part of a collection of pieces
