An original artwork in oils on board.
Early spring in Gunnerside Gill, a protected woodland, with light dappling through the branches. A few leaves are budding and the path winds invitingly upwards. The valley is a boulder strewn way that miners would have tramped repeatedly on their way to work in the lead mines up the dale.
The painting uses various painting techniques with acrylic paint to create texture and atmosphere.

This work is unframed on a deep cradled board.
