“My Professional making career has spanned over 45 years. I have been privileged to live and work in a variety of locations in the world each with a distinctive influence on what I think and make. I currently live in a small ex mining village where my grandfather used to dig coal, I am making again under ancestral skies”.
Nicholas makes ceramic vessels and sculptures using a variety of clays and decorative techniques to achieve contrasting and complimentary surfaces. These are enhanced by a live flame interacting with the predominantly unglazed clay during the final firing.
